I just finished Myst III (Exile) on OS X using Residual VM, absolutely fantastic experience, no glitches whatsoever to speak of and perfect graphic, sound quality, etc.

Moving on to Revelation, the only wrapper I can find for it uses a program called Cider, and compared to Myst III it's a nightmare. From capturing the cursor so that switching between apps becomes a nightmare, to having VERY choppy, laggy, unpredictable cursor/trackpad interaction, I've pretty much given up on it already as it's just not pleasant to play. Unlike the Myst III version using Residual VM, you feel like you're constantly fighting the trackpad on Myst IV with Cider, it either won't move fast enough, or if you speed up it responds too much and overshoots where you wanted to look.

Because of this I only made it as far as the first power generator puzzle before deciding it was too unpleasant to play. I haven't found anything after extensive Googling, but will it run with Residual? Is there anything I'd have to do in order to get it to work, or if it uses the same engine as Exile, could I just replace the data and executable in the Exile wrapper with Revelation, and run it the same way?

Hi,

I'm glad you enjoyed playing Myst III with ResidualVM.

Unfortunately ResidualVM does not support Myst IV. And due to the complexity of Myst IV's engine it will likely never happen.

Maybe you can play Revelation using Wine on OS X.
