Is there an engine that can resist the love in these hands?

Some time has passed since doomsday, and we're still around to see the aftermath, the time since then has not been wasted however. Today we release ResidualVM 0.1.1 which is a service-release bringing you roughly 40 gameplay-fixes, varying from very minor fixes to quite visible bugs, 14 of these fixes were also in the original game as it was released back in 1998.

For a list of what has been fixed, see the NEWS-file.

So, head on over to our downloads-page and grab a fresh copy of ResidualVM 0.1.1 to enjoy the best possible Grim Fandango experience we can offer to date.

So, quick question...
I've been playing Grim Fandango on ResidualVM 0.1.0, and have racked up several saved points by now. If I update to 0.1.1, will the saved games still work?

Thanks. :)

Editing cos I forgot I'd like to take the chance to thank devs for allowing the project to happen. Thanks guys!

Yes, they will work. They are backward compatible but not forward compatible so you cannot load a 0.1.1 savegame in 0.1.0, but you can load a 0.1.0 savegame in 0.1.1.

Fantastic! This is so exciting.

I bought Grim when it came out, and I've played it many times since then, most recently in XP on a VM. To play Grim natively is a dream come true (currently Win 8 x64).

I appreciate all of the bug fixes. Needless to say, even a seasoned player has had problems with the conveyor belt. I hope the forklift/elevator puzzle will be easier.

I'm fascinated that a lot of the quirks I associated with Grim are actually bugs. Playing Grim will be a whole new experience.

What does it mean you can't save? Saving fails, it doesn't even try to save, ...

The save button is greyed out. Paths are ok (dialogue is saved there).

How did you manage to open that menu? I can't seem to be able to.
Anyway, you must use Grim's menu, by pressing F1.
